One day Kurt went to Dalton Academy and met a boy called Blaine Anderson.
Obviously, it’d have made way more sense to start phasing them out last season (at the very least), and they also should’ve introduced a couple new characters then, other than Sam (who they actually did manage to establish well).
But with the the characters they did choose to graduate this season, I’m a little baffled as to why they chose to split apart so many ships? I mean, this leaves them with only a couple of options:
a) Have the remaining characters maintain long-distance relationships throughout the next season, which renders them unavailable for romantic plots.
or
b) Have the remaining characters either cheat on their long-distance partners or break up with them, thus freeing them up for romantic plots in the new season.
I wouldn’t be terribly surprised if Glee took the second route re: cheating, because cheating has been a plot device in Glee since forever, but at this point, it doesn’t seem like particularly like they’ll go the breakup route? I mean, it seems to have established the main existing couples (Finchel, Klaine, Brittana, Tike) pretty firmly, and although a Klaine breakup is long, long overdue, the show seems afraid of the idea.
Which means that a good chunk of the existing Glee club (Blaine, Brittany, Tina, Sam) are now romantic plot dead ends?
So why didn’t Glee graduate them in couples, thus tying up the ships they want to be endgame? Are some of the graduated characters going to be sort of returning characters?
WHY DOES THIS SHOW MAKE THE DECISIONS THAT IT MAKES?
Edge of Glory (Glee Cast Version)
I hate it when they have the group sing Lady Gaga choruses. Sounds like Kids Bop.
glee episodes that actively annoy or offend me
- 100% of them
episodes I end up dutifully watching week-to-week anyway
- 100% of them

you know that one ship
that one ship that you hate with every fiber of your being
with such a burning, white-hot fury that every time you think about them it’s like you can feel them under your skin, grating at your bones and you feel nasty and want to shower and at the same time want to punch holes in walls and flip all the furniture in the room over
yeah me fucking too
